This is Stacking Our Deck!
Our Journey to Strength: From Struggles to Triumphs
We’re Lesley and Billy — married for over two decades, and finally showing up for ourselves like never before.
After losing a combined 180 pounds, we discovered something we never expected: a love for endurance sports, heavy lifting, and doing hard things together. Now, we’re training for our first Olympic triathlon, with Ironman Florida 2026 on the horizon — and we're chasing big-ass goals, one sweaty mile at a time.
We created Stacking Our Deck to share our journey — the highs, the crashes, the “I can’t feel my legs” moments, and the small wins that often go unnoticed but mean the most.
We’re not experts. We’re not trying to be.
We’re just two real people, taking on the hard things — and having a hell of a time doing it.
We're here to show you that no matter where you start, it’s the persistence and belief in yourself that counts.
We're here to show you that no matter where you start, it’s the persistence and belief in yourself that counts.
Real People. Big Goals. One Hell of a Ride.
Partners in life, training, and transformation. After shedding 180 pounds together, we discovered a new kind of fire: triathlon goals, building strength, and showing up every day.
Stacking Our Deck is where we share the journey — the sweat, setbacks, and small wins — that lead to big change. We’re not here to be perfect. We’re here to be real.
We Train Out of Decatur & Huntsville, Alabama
From morning runs to bike bricks and strength sessions, we’re stacking miles with Team Rocket Tri Club and chasing big goals with heart and hustle.
This journey is ours, but it’s for anyone ready to bet on themselves.
Why This Matters
This isn’t just about miles or medals. It’s about showing up when it’s hard. It’s about rewriting the stories we used to believe about ourselves — the ones that said we couldn’t.
Every step forward is a reminder that change is possible.
That you’re never too far gone, never too old, and never too late.
We’re not here to be perfect. We’re here to be real.
To build momentum. To grow stronger. To keep stacking our deck — one sweaty, determined day at a time.
And if our story helps even one person believe they can start too? That’s the kind of impact we’re here for.
